About Us
Our company was started as a means of marketing hybrid poplars grown by the non‐profit enterprise HELP International based in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Starting with just three varieties for the 2010 planting season, they have now added three more for 2011. They intend to add as many types of native prairie trees as possible as time and space allow.
15 August 2011 UPDATE: Check out our product page for new varieties of trees available for spring 2012!
This business partnership allows South Sask Seedlings to concentrate on sales and customer care and HELP to concentrate on research in their nursery as well as completing their many small and large agroforestry installations for private, business and government clients.
This means our clients can rely on us to sell them the best possible product at some of the lowest prices anywhere, with reassurance that if any of their trees do not survive their first year we will provide free replacements. However, with the superior root development of our seedlings, there is very little risk of loss.
We also supply heavy black plastic mulch as well as Creeping Red Fescue grass seed to plant as living mulch between rows to those who wish to make their plantings as maintenance‐free as possible—just plant it and forget it!
